On Wednesday March 31 2021 -Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu Chaired the Senior County Management Team meeting.
In the meeting, Governor Ngilu was briefed on the progress of a number of activities that are on-going within the county. Key amongst those discussed include:
1.Status of County Revenue Collection
A special cabinet memo on the status of revenue collection was tabled in the meeting.
The paper included a detailed report on revenue collection from the hospital and the Kitui water and sanitation company.
It was agreed that moving on, a strict system of accountability will be enhanced to ensure that loopholes that lead to revenue loss are closed.
2. Slaughter house renovation works.
Aiming at increasing revenue from the facility and an addition to the value of cattle farmers in Kitui, Governor Ngilu was also briefed as to the extent of renovation works in the slaughter house.
It was agreed that the renovation works ought to be fast tracked to improve the current hygiene and working conditions in the facility.
Further, she was briefed on the extent of plans for demolition of buildings erected illegally on the facility’s land.
**3. General County Development Agenda.*

Upon assuming office, Governor Ngilu embarked on a robust development agenda, as such the team also deliberated on several key ongoing projects. They sought to highlight the extent of Implementation of the identified projects within their respective proposed sites and the challenges that inhibit effective implementation of the same.
In the meeting, a common ground was reached by the team to fastrack implementation of key infrastructure projects with an aim of improving the livelihood of Kitui Residents.
