Governor Charity Ngilu has today said the County Government will continue working with the National Gov’t to spur growth in the county.
Speaking when she hosted Agriculture CS Peter Munya in Kitui Rural during the commissioning of Kwa Isiki Water Pan, Governor Ngilu said the project will provide a reliable potential for surface run-off water harvesting in the area – and will benefit an approximated 30,000 persons .
On his part, CS Munya said the project – funded by the National Government and the County Government of Kitui will help curb water shortage in the area.
He lauded Governor Ngilu for prioritising development projects that focus on directly improving livelihoods and growing the economy in the county.
“The Governor has been keen in focusing on women and the youth. The two groups are key in promoting any areas’ growth.”. He said.
The *CS further commended Kitui for promoting the Buy Kenya build Kenya call that he says “will grow the county’s economy”.
Munya emphasized on the need for counties to work closely with the national gov’t to hugely reap the fruits of devolution.
