Ngilu commissions Kanzaus’ kwa Isika water pan for rehabilitation

Governor Charity Ngilu has today graced the launch of rehabilitation of Kwa Isiki water pan in Mbitini ward, Kitui Rural sub county.

The project, funded by World Bank and the County Government will see residents of Mbitini and Chuluni wards benefit from a 60M litre capacity dam for livestock and domestic use.

While addressing area
residents, Governor Charity Ngilu said her administration is keen in water provision and supply in the county to serve her water agenda.

The Governor further called upon the residents to support the life changing project and directed that area youths be incorporated in the project.

“This project is a dream come true to the people of this area, water is life and I am very determined that it will transform this place” she said.

The County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture Water and Livestock Development Mr. Emmanuel Kisangau said the dam has the will to serve approximately 7500 direct and indirect beneficiaries and will include among other initiatives the construction of nine farm pounds, landscaping, tree planting and energy saving technologies.

Area MCA Nicholas Mwalali thanked residents for supporting saying it would benefit them immensely through reduced trekking distances to water points.

The County Government of Kitui in partnership with World bank have embarked on a 2 months-project for Multi- Community investments on earth pan rehabilitation and land scape wide activities.
