Ngilu ASSURES KITUI Defunct Local Government Employees, Commits to Pay their Dues



On Tuesday, 23rd Feb 2021 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu assured the defunct local authorities Employees – Which includes, Kitui Municipal Council, Kitui County Council , Mwingi County council , and Mwingi town Council employees, that the government will pay their dues.

The Money which was at the Latif account is allegedly to have been misused during the transition period under the leadership of the previous regime which was headed by former Governor Dr. Malombe.

The workers under the Banner of County Government workers Union had sought to see the Governor Ngilu at the county headquarters in regards to their accumulated arrears which is close to 35Million.

Addressing over 300 workers on behalf of the Governor Ngilu, The County Secretary Dr. Chepchieng assured them that – the county government of Kitui has received an authority letter from the transition authority – to allow the process of payment to be effected in the next financial year 2022.

Addressing them, Kitui County Government workers Union chairman Mr. Stephen Kitheka Kwanda urged workers to continue supporting the Governor’s Development agenda.

The County secretary Dr. ChepChieg was flagged by Minister of County Finance Mr. Bernard Katungi, The County Finance Chief Officer Dr. Justus Kalii, Union officials led Mr Stephen kitheka among others.
