Mwingi West Constituency has been a focal point for development and progress under the leadership of its Member of Parliament (MP), who goes by the name Charles Ngusya Nguna.
In recent years, the MP has spearheaded various initiatives, aimed at improving the lives of the constituents and addressing critical issues that have long been plaguing the region.
One of the remarkable achievements of Mwingi West Constituency is the successful completion of 52 Major National Constituency Development Projects. These projects encompass a wide range of infrastructure, social, and economic developments that have significantly contributed to the overall growth of the area.
These initiatives have touched the lives of the people and transformed the constituency, making it more accessible and prosperous, the TCD digital reports.
Education has been a major focus for MP Nguna and the government of Mwingi West. Last year alone, over 15,000 children from the constituency received bursaries. This generous allocation of bursaries has not only eased the financial burden on families but also encouraged more children to pursue their education and dreams, ultimately leading to a brighter future for the region.
During a recent morning talk show on Musyi FM, MP Nguna made a passionate plea to President William, urging him to prioritize the construction of the Mbodoni-Migwani road, a critical infrastructure project that has remained stalled.
This 27-kilometer road holds the key to enhanced connectivity and accessibility, and its completion will undoubtedly improve the lives of the constituents. MP Nguna emphasized that the timely execution of this project could significantly influence the votes in the 2027 elections, underlining the importance of addressing the needs of the people.
Another pressing matter highlighted by MP Nguna is rural electrification. He stressed the urgency for Kenya Power Company to expedite the process of connecting the remaining areas in Mwingi West to the electrical grid. Access to electricity is vital for various aspects of life, from lighting homes and powering businesses to enhancing the overall quality of life for the constituents.
In a strong condemnation, MP Nguna voiced his disapproval of the demolition of properties in Mavoko, Machakos County. He criticized the Kenya Kwanza politicians who supported the destruction, calling it “foolish” and emphasizing that it is wrong for the government to demolish properties for any reason.
“Such actions not only disrupt the lives of individuals but also hinder the progress of the region. This condemnation highlights MP Nguna’s dedication to protecting the rights and well-being of the people he represents”
Mwingi West Constituency has witnessed significant development and progress under the leadership of MP Charles Nguna. With an unwavering commitment to the well-being of the constituents, he has advocated for critical infrastructure projects, education, and property rights.
The path he has set for the region underscores the importance of strong leadership in addressing the challenges faced by rural communities in Kenya. The people of Mwingi West are looking to the future with optimism, expecting President William Ruto to address their concerns, particularly the high cost of living, and continue the legacy of development in the region.
