He has established himself very fast and Has narrowed the contest to a three horse race between current Mp Hon Nguna ,the former Mp Hon Kitungi and himself.
Engineer Francis Mulekya boasts of rich academic backgrounds and professional experience in project management, financial management, international exposure, relations and networks spanning several years in both private and public sector.
High levels of youth unemployment, food and water scarcity, electricity, roads and infrastructure networks have been cited as some of the greatest challenges facing the residents of Mwingi West.
Francis Mulekya understands how the Government works and fits well in executing the Constitutional mandate of a Member of Parliament to legislate, represent and oversight.
He is determined to look beyond the NG-CDF by seeking donor partnerships in initiating poverty reduction projects as well as ensuring a seamless work stream with both the County and National governments through mobilization and lobbying.
He is humble, approachable, a listener, a go-getter and down to earth leader.
Residents expressed confidence that he would defeat his rivals by seeking support and endorsement from all stakeholders in the constituency.
Political pundits opine that Mulekya may turn out to be the most formidable candidate in the battle for Mwingi West MP seat come 2022.
His entry into Politics has disorganised the current political establishment in Mwingi West.
