A senior teacher on Sunday committed suicide in Mwingi, Kitui county after her husband allegedly refused to give her money.
The 43-year-old was found dangling from the roof of their bedroom at around 9am on Sunday. She was still breathing at that time.

Her husband Bernard Musyoka attempted to save her by cutting the rope. The woman died as she was being rushed to Mwingi Level 4 hospital.
He said his wife, a teacher at Kakunike Primary school, waited until their children and the house help left the house then hanged herself.
Police visited the scene and took statements from the teacher’s husband. The body was taken to Mwingi Level 4 hospital mortuary.
