Mutomo mission hospital acquires the First PET-CT Scan in Eastern Region



Mutomo Catholic Sponsored Mission Hospital in Kitui South has acquired the First PET-CT Scan in Eastern Region.

This is the fourth PET-CT scanner to be acquired in Kenya after Agha Khan hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital, and Coast General Hospital. The COUNTY DIARY Has learnt.

It’s a big boost in kitui county and the neighbouring counties concerning the health care sector.

This PET-CT scan is a way to help find cancer and learn its stage. Stage is a way to describe where the cancer is and if it has spread.

Doctors also learn information about the stage if and how the cancer is affecting your body’s functions, Knowing the stage of cancer helps you and your doctor choose the best treatment. It also helps your doctor predict your chance of recovery.
