The changing political popularity wave in Kitui West constituency has recently left the incumbent MP in a tough spot. This comes after a notable rise in Hon. Muasya’s influence and popularity amongst the constituents.

Hon Vethi Nyenze and UDA Parliamentary hopeful Ben Muasya.

The TCD Team has further learnt that with the shift in popularity balance, it’s now a clear two horse race for the Kitui West Parliamentary seat come August election, with the UDA aspirant, Hon. Muasya now leading in the opinion polls.

Dating back to 2015, the UDA aspirant, Hon. Muasya, has managed to create a clean development record, putting him almost at par with the sitting Member of Parliament.

According to one of the locals, the sitting MP has done nothing more than be a representation of a family interest that continues to facilitate the deterioration of development for the constituents.

Another local was quoted saying, “It’s about time she goes home so that we can access CDF fairly.” The Kitui West Constituents are clearly ready for a change in leadership, one that is not a familial trade of seats.

With the race for Kitui West Parliamentary seat now reduced to a clear two horse race, it has not come as a surprise that other opposing aspirants are nowhere to be seen or heard.

While the vibrant Hon. Muasya alias ‘Wathi Mweu’ battles the infamous and passive Edith Nyenze, the score card continue to be marked diligently by their constituents.

A score card that at now rates Hon. Muasya as a development oriented leader and his counterpart as a ‘no-show’ who only appears in funerals; a thing that might render the Wiper aspirant obsolete and irrelevant even before the August polls.
