MP MULYUNGI & PS MARINGA inspect Garissa Road Bumps at Makutano Thitha Blackspot

Hon MULYUNGI today tagged along with INFRASTRUCTURE PS MARINGA and senior ROADS ENGINEERS to inspect road bumps at Makutano/ Thitha along Mwingi-Garissa Road, local media reported today.

The MP had termed the hastly erected bumps as sub standard.

The push for erection of proper speed bumps at the notorious blackspot prone to multiple road accidents comes on the heels of recent fatal highway mishaps.

Recently 5 people died instantly and two were critically injured when a speeding matatu hit a stationary lorry, careened off the road and rolled several times at Thitha Makutano junction.

A week later a boda rider was hit by a speeding vehicle and criticslly injured at the same blackspot.

“It is quite clear to everyone that the area near Thitha Makutano junction along Mwingi-Garissa road is a deadly blackspot. We can not sit and watch as lives get wasted” said the MP.

Meanwhile today at the scene, the PS assured the Wiper MP that the *SUBSTANDARD bumps will be rectified in 2 WEEKS time.

The PS also promised to SUPPORT the *EDUCATION of 2 bereaved orphans whose mother MRS MBAI lost her life in a recent fatal ACCIDENT at the notorious BLACKSPOT.

The PS also promised to SUPPORT a MEDICAL BILL fundraiser of the boy who was involved in a SUBSEQUENT road accident at the scene.
