Outspoken Kitui South Member of Parliament Hon Dr Racheal Kaki Nyamai proposal for the establishment of a physio-social centre for members of the National Police Service has elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans, the COUNTY DIARY has learnt.
The vocal Jubilee MP, through standing order paper No 5 on the floor of the 12th Parliament called on the Government to bridge the gap for post-combat police office who may exhibit Post Traumatic Street Disorder.
“We focus too much on the Professionalism, fitness and weapons and forget the mental health and phsyco-social well-being of the policemen,” said Kaki.
Such a DEBRIEF support centre, Kaki said ‘ will drastically reduce cases of suicide and homicide meted by policemen to their loved ones, lovers or colleagues.
