Thousands of residents thronged Kwasiku in Mwingi West on Thursday as Sports and development PS Jonathan Mueke and Mwingi West MP Charles Nguna led fellow leaders on an inspection tour of the ongoing Kabati–Migwani–Mbondoni Road project. The visit, which was initially planned to coincide with a groundbreaking ceremony by President William Ruto, was rescheduled following the passing of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.

The event drew thousands of enthusiastic locals who expressed strong support for the Kenya Kwanza administration’s continued investment in infrastructure and development across the region. Residents said the road, once completed, will significantly ease transport, boost trade, and open up economic opportunities for farmers and small-scale traders.

“This road has been my top priority since I was elected. I have walked every step of this journey with my people, knocking on every door to ensure the Kabati–Migwani–Mbondoni Road becomes a reality. Today, seeing this progress gives me hope that our persistence is finally paying off — and soon, the people of Mwingi West will enjoy the fruits of their patience.”
