Makueni Residents dismiss recent rating as propaganda and hoodwinking of public – term Hon. Rose Museo development initiative s as ‘Godsend‘
Residents of MAKUENI County have praised the leadership of the Women rep Hon Rose Museo, (CBS) for her transparent and proper utilisation of NGAAF funds despite negative media publicity, the COUNTY DIARY reports.
Last week the parliament performance which rated the Makueni women rep among the worst performing was all over on media but it has been dismissed “a poor propaganda machine out to mislead the public, a voter wrote on social media.
“I can’t disqualify it because I don’t know the sources but the little I know about her it’s that she sponsored a MOTION ON MENTAL HEALTH recently as that’s what leading to many cases of gender based violence”.
Besides that, on her second term now she has initiated several programs which have been running in the entire County: from CBOs, water tanks, mentorship, hair dressing, driving, scholarships, sports, pwds to gbv, et al.
Community based organizations:
Hon. Museo spearheaded formation of over 60 at Least one in every subward. Out of these, 32 of them have recieved tents and chairs, 30 have received chicks each at least 300 and they are all set to receive cheques of 100 thousand each.
Over 10,000 households have been able to receive water tanks at a subsidized price which is paid in installments in the revolving fund kitty.
Mentorship – a program which targeted the youth to face the future with confidence. Top notch mentors did marvelous job.
Beauty and hair dressing– 40 girls from vulnerable families were trained for three months to have a skill that can help them earn a living.
Girls on the wheels- for quite some time, driving was viewed as a man thing, to break the norm NGAAF paid for 80 ladies for a driving course.
Scholarships – as at now 41 students are under full ngaaf scholarship for their secondary education. Besides that, others have benefited from bursaries.
Sports– it’s just difficult to ignore sports activities in the county. Ngaaf sponsored 40 teams with sports kits.
Persons living with disability and the elderly, these are termed as the affirmative groups which requires affirmative action. They have benefited with wheelchairs, free 1000 litres water tanks, relief food and poultry .
Gender based violence- gbv is categorised into domestic violence, sexual violence, physical assualt, etc. Ngaaf trained and sensitized national govt administration on gbv, spearheaded formation of a gbv champions group with a representative from each ward, organised for the week of defilement cases in makindu court last year which brought judges from different courts and cleared over 200 cases to reduce congestion.
Sanitary pads- Ngaaf Makueni launched a program on sanitary towels distribution to all schools through the ministry of education.
