More than 1000 residents in Makueni are set to benefit from Government services as the drive for mass registration continues in the County.
The Mass Persons registration exercise today at Nthongoni has ended successfully with more than 200 people having been issued with ID waiting Cards. More than 2000 people had turned out for the exercise.
The exercise is expected to continue tomorrow at Nthongoni Market at the Chief’s office, according to the Makueni County Assembly Deputy Speaker and MCA for Ivingoni Nzambani Ward Hon Harrison Mwanzia Mutie.
The exercise is aimed at enabling the residents of this area to get National Identification Cards in order to make them eligible to access Government services and participate in the laid down development projects towards the improvement of the infrastructure in this Country.
Hon Mutie has further added that the exercise will be conducted at Nzambani location and the entire Kibwezi East region.
Many residents of this area and other regions are reported to have been facing challenges in accessing Government services and exercising their Democratic rights such as Voting due to lack of ID cards.
