Kitui Central Member of parliament hon Dr Makali Mulu has praised the ministry of education for establishing a cancer center in Garissa town.
Speaking through his social media platforms. The wiper Mp and one the potential Governor candidate in 2027 wrote.
” It’s very Encouraging to see CS Health opening a regional cancer centre at Garissa. For the many years I have been in parliament, we have been budgeted for four cancer centres but implementation has remained wanting. With cancer being seen as a national disaster, more centers are urgent” Makali Wrote.
The center will provide free screening and examination services on breast cancer at the Garissa Referral Hospital ahead of World Cancer Day.
The county government of Garissa is investing heavily in human resources and modern equipment to handle cancer cases, the center is now fully operational.
Cancer is highly prevalent in Kenya and the biggest concern in the country. Locals are seeking help when the disease is already full-blown.
“What people should know is that cancer can be treated if detected early. We believe the facility will be of great help,” An Official in the Health Ministry said.
