Former Machakos gubernatorial hopeful and KEWI chairperson Wavinya Ndeti has extolled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s unwavering fight against corruption menace in his Thursday State of the Nation address.
The vocal Wiper party stalwart termed the Uhuru-led all-out war on graft as indiscriminate and marked by palpable determination to liberate Kenya from the vice.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta’s efforts to slay the corruption dragon is commendable and calls for political goodwill.
“We also cannot fail to acknowledge the invaluable efforts by various state agencies that have gradually shifted the war on graft from mere rhetoric to a no-nonsense endeavor, ” she said in Machakos Town.
She, however, urged the judiciary to put in place deterrent but lawful measures in dealing with graft suspects to ensure effective prosecution of culprits.
“Courts must step up their game as they liaise with the EACC and DCI in fighting graft, ” added Mrs. Ndeti.
She further hailed the Head of State’s commitment to foster socioeconomic prosperity through the nationwide implementation of life-changing projects that have greatly impacted on lives of Kenyans.
Ndeti praised the Jubilee government’s support for counties’ endeavor to effectively establish and operationalize economic blocs that prioritize key economic programmes to empower grassroots communities.
“The efforts by his administration to ensure 100% transition from primary into secondary schools are among the many gains,” she added.
