“I love God but I hate Satan”, that sounds like the experience of the religious person but it can’t be. In the existential nature of things, love and hate can’t issue from the same source. It is either pure love or pure hate. The sun cannot be the source of darkness.
I have read in the life of a saint. Somebody told him: Satan must be hated and he replied: ‘This is very difficult, because hatred now no longer exists in me; now there is only love, whether it be the satan or God.
Except that, there is nothing in me to give to others. I may not even be able to differentiate between the two, because the eye of love has never been able to differentiate.’
