1) Tharaka Ward:
The Swarm at Magara in Gacigogo Village was sprayed on Friday last week killing over 80%.Breeding sites:
1) Kyuso Ward – Maseki, Kivangwa and Kyethetu/ Kiseuni Villages.
2) Mumoni Ward – Kyoea/ Kakuyu, Mbarani/ Katse, Ngungani and Mutanda Villages.
3) Tseikuru Ward- Kaivirya and Usueni Villages.
4) Tharaka Ward- Magara in Gacigogo Village, Ituramura and Karikoni in Gatoroni Village and Kadimba.
Hatching started on 19th February, 2020 in
- Kyuso Ward – Maseki.
- Mumoni Ward –
°Nguutani in Mutanda Village.
°Kyoea in Kakuyu Village.
3.Tseikuru Ward- Kaivirya.

Spraying of Nymphs (young locust
The spraying started yesterday at Maseki in Kyuso Ward by use of motorized hand sprayers and it will go on until all the Nymphs are destroyed.
The County Agricultural officers and the trained community members, will receive a team of 100 service men from National Youth Service who will assist them in spraying.
