Wiper party SG Shakila’s letter Authorizing changes in Kitui assembly and installing Hon Katonyi as the Majority leader has been dismissed by a section of elected wiper Members, terming it as a love letter.
On his side, Hon Harrison Maluki, the embattled County assembly Majority leader has vowed to stay put, says he will be leading the Government business as usual in the assembly on Monday.
The Waterloo is expected in the Kitui assembly “tomorrow” 18th September 2023, as sections of elected members dismiss changes that have been ratified by the wiper party secretary General hon Shakila.
The Team that backs Hon Harrison Maluki, has ten elected MCAS on its side and two nominated wiper MCAs on his side a total of 12 MCAs.
While, the Katonyi’s faction has ten 8 Nominated MCAs and four elected MCAs who are backing him for the Majority Position, a total of 12 wiper MCAs.
The widespread opposition in both camps is stinking to the high heaven if not unchecked by the party.
However, many assembly members argue that the letter that was written to the Wiper party secretary general had enormous errors prompting a section of MCAs who back Maluki to term it as a love letter.
As the debate continues, tensions rise, and this crisis will likely face significant challenges in the assembly tomorrow.
