Mutha MCA Aspirant and Renowned activist Mbuvi Kasina has said he will lead the residents of Musenge, Kalambani to negotiate with the government over the alleged forced eviction which was done 1979 by the Government.
Addressing residents of Musenge-mutha ward on the issue of forceful eviction on Saturday 11th, April 2021 – Kasina said that he will lead the people of Musenge, kalambani in looking for peaceful ways to settle the matter.
The origin of the problems started in 1979 when the government purported to have extended the cutline, it went a head and compensated the non locals and many were from kitui centra, he added.
Most recently, the government used the excuse of insecurity to evict indigenous people from their farms, homes and their grazing areas. In fact, a primary school called Kyeni was closed.
This is an historical injustice that must be cured by the courts. The people from those areas have constitutional rights to be protected. You can’t evict people without compensation, Kasina added.
Speaking to the www.thecountydiary.co.ke the MCA aspirant revealed that they will be seeking redress through the corridors of justice.
