Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu on Tuesday officially opened the Kalundu Eco-Park for public utility, The 30.9 recreational development includes a 9-acre dam and will be key for exploiting the county’s tourism potential.

According to the plan, the recreational development will include a floating restaurant, kayaking, jet skiing, walkways among other amenities.

The facility will boost business opportunities and create employment among the residents.

This initiative by Governor Ngilu once completed will spur business opportunities that will create employment for our people, this is real development for our people.

A 30.9 acre recreational development that includes a nine acre dam is developing to harness Kitui’s tourism potential, the Minister of tourism hon Patrick Koki has said.

On completion, the recreational development will include, a floating restaurant, kayaking, jet skiing among other amenities, Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau has said.

“I have today officially opened it up to the public for utilization during the Christmas festivities especially at this tough time of the COVID 19 pandemic when travel to traditional holiday destinations is severely limited” Ngilu added.
