Kitui’s health sector continues to shine – CECM opens a new dispensary.

On Friday 9th July 2021 -Governor Charity Ngilu’s administration marked another milestone in the health care sector after the opening of a new dispensary.

This comes at a time when the county government is on the verge of equipping and improving services across all county hospitals in preparation for the first phase of the new universal Health care in partnership with NHIF to be rolled out by the county Government.

Speaking during the official opening of Kavisu dispensary in Nguni Ward, Mwingi Central Sub-county, Health and Sanitation CECM Dr Winnie Kitetu reiterated Governor Ngilu’s efforts in ensuring every Kitui resident gets access to quality healthcare within fairly shorter distances

” The opening of this dispensary marks another milestone as we seek to ensure Kitui is health secure,” she said.

Area MCA, Mr Jefferson Kiruru lauded Governor Charity Ngilu’s development agenda citing road grading programs and the opening of various dispensaries in the area.

The Newly opened Kavisu Dispensary comes as a relief to area residents who earlier traversed more than 9 Kilometers to neighbouring Nguni health centres in search of health services.

The dispensary will serve a catchment area of approximately 4600 people Who have been suffering for more than 10 years in search of health services.
