The County Government of Kitui has held a sensitization workshop for local contractors and cyber café operators on e-procurement towards the bidding of the Community Level Infrastructure Development Projects {CLIDP}.
The workshop precedes the procurement of the CLIDP plan for the FY2019/2020 and will help local contractors to properly bid for the projects.
The move seeks to ensure enhanced service delivery and effectiveness on issues relating to public procurement.
The initiative is meant to promote equitable development across the county’s 247 villages and will be awarded through a fair, transparent, competitive and a cost-effective manner.
The e-procurement is a legal provision under the Public Finance Management 2012 -section 12{1}- and helps the system monitor procurement opportunities to the preference groups including women, youths and persons living with disabilities.
Today’s workshop was held at the Agricultural Training Center (ATC) in Kitui town.
