Kitui to host & launch commemorative of International Nurses and Midwives Week

Over 1000 nurses across the country are expected to converge at Kitui Stadium for the launch and commemoration of this year’s International Nurses and Midwives Week.

The week is celebrated with an aim to attain the desires for nursing and midwifery in the future to address the Kenyan and global health changes with a goal to achieve universal health care.

This year’s celebration will be marked under the theme: Our Nurses. Our Future, and “The Art and Science of Midwifery: Celebrating Evidence to Reality.”

The event has been organized and supported by the National Nurses Association of Kenya, Midwifery Association of Kenya, Kenya Progressive Nursing Association and Kenya National Union of Nurses.

The launch and commemoration will be marked on Friday, April 28, and will begin with a procession from Kitui County Referral Hospital (KCRH), through town to Kitui stadium.
