On 24th Sep 2018 – Sprouting Kitui south son eng Mwanzia was appointed as the Chief Officer Ministry of Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural resources by Nyandarua Governor kimemia
Before his appointment, Eng. Mwanzia Kyambia was the Director of water Services.
He holds Master of Science degree in Water Resources and Environmental Management from Egerton University University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Egerton University, Kenya.
His masters research thesis was on Climate Change with key focus on Analysis of Extreme Hydrological Events for Adaptation to climate change and variability within the internationally recognized Lake Naivasha Basin.
He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in *GIS and Remote Sensing from African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technolgy Education, Obafemi Awolowo University Campus, Nigeria, An affiliate of United Nations Office of Outer Space (UNOOSA)
He has work experience as an intern with CARE-Kenya and later as Technical manager with the CARE-Kenya, Rural Enterprise Agribusiness Promotion Programme, in Makueni District beside an extensive teaching and research work.
With several research publications in reffered journals, He has expertise and experience in modeling using GIS and Remote Sensing softwares, i.e. ArcGIS, ILWIS, ArcSWAT, and ERDAS.
