In an unprecedented move taken by The Kitui County Assembly Leadership, the Governor’s memorandum which was expected to be expedited and disposed of by today, it took all by surprise when the SPEAKER decided to take an illegal route to INVITE The Governor to discuss it word for word.

The law provides that once the Memo is received, the house Leadership subjects it to a vote. If the house manages to raise 2/3 majority opposing the Memo, then the Governor’s memorandum is said to have lost but if the Assembly can’t raise this number to defeat the Memo, then the Governor’s memorandum carries the day.

Alternatively, the house can decide to pass it by a simple majority pursuant to the law. 10, days later the House leadership is employing delaying tactics to defeat justice and deny the Kitui Populace an opportunity to access services.

To date, all services have been crippled in all offices sue to workers strike. Sick residents are seeking medical attention from private Hospitals hence depleting their savings.

Others who can’t afford those exorbitant services from the private health facilities are languishing and dying at home. The County Assembly leadership is less bothered and cares the less even as workers take into uncalled for survival means as the assembly dilly-dallies with the Memorandum.

We have an ingrate house that has an insatiable appetite for pettiness. A dubious one for that matter that comprises of characters depictive of vagabonds, imbeciles and crackpots.

They can keep the memorandum in the armpits and elsewhere till Kingdom come, but the day of reckoning is nigh.
