Kitui Receives Drugs worthy 104 million to Boost Health Delivery

The County Government of Kitui today received drugs worth sh.104million from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

The drugs to be distributed to health facilities across the county will ensure patients access quality treatment at the county’s public health facilities.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Charity Ngilu when he recieved the consignment, Kitui Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau said health remains a key sector in the county’s development agenda.

He said the county’s budgetary allocation for health in the2017/18FY was a whooping 30% of the total budget projections saying that had hugely transformed the county’s health sector.

The County Chief Officer for Health Dr. Richard Muthoka said the county was supplying drugs and non pharmaceuticals to all facilities on the need bases.

KEMSA Sales and Marketing Director Gichohi Mwangi reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to ensure counties get convenient supplies and guarantee efficient service delivery at the health facilities.

He lauded Kitui as committed partner in the health sector saying the county continues to source drugs sustainably from the nonprofit making government body.

Kitui Level 4 Medical Superintend Dr. Virginia Muviku said the county was on the verge of ensuring no patients lack necessary treatment at any of the county’s health facilities.
