Kitui Philanthropist Sila Warns Against Corrupt Goat Auctions, Urges BBI Support

By PATRICK KIMANZI & MPPRESS.KITUI– Kitui County is set to reap huge economic and social-political benefits from the recent Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) when it is implemented, prolific development icon and top Kitui philanthropist Hon. Allan Sila has said.

Warning that any corrupt leader should be barred from contesting in 2022, the emerging Kitui anti-corruption hero said the electorate must look ‘beyond hand-outs and fake goat auctions that are being used by corrupt leaders to milk their hard-earned money’.

“BBI will prop up the devolution agenda when it comes to force in the next few years. I must also my loving people of Kitui to be wary of corrupt, sleazy and self-seeking politicians who have invented fake marketing gimmicks to steal from them.

What is the aim of these so called goat auctions if not to steal from poor, unsuspecting people?” wondered the politician.

The Joysilla Foundation President, whose popularity could see him become the next Kitui Senator in 2022 has a chequered career in development.

Through his Joysilla Foundation, the petroleum honcho has been donating hundreds of goats to poor families, paying fees to over 240 orphans while donating wheel chairs to physically challenged groups.

He was speaking to COUNTY DIARY after officiating over several functions this weekend.Hon.

Allan Sila firebrand comments come in heels of yet another planned goat auction debacle organized by a Kitui politician, who last year attracted blame by goat owners for allegedly running a corrupt cartel of goat auctions every year.

The politician networking has seen him tag along with Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi who won two Africa Philanthropist Of The Year Award 2019.The two have been spotted attending several functions in Mwingi together.

“Goat auctions? What goat auction? This is just a cartel lased with under-hand dealings.

These fake auction and photo-ops are only hell-bent to continue fleecing more goat owners. Ask people about llast year in Nguni, Mwingi” said Mutemi Muli, a goat herder in Nguni speaking to COUNTY DIARY.
