Kitui Municipality Board Members Sworn in

A team of 9 was sworn in today to the board membership of Kitui Municipality as the county set pace for the new standing forward.
The board led by Dr. Musyimi Mbathi will be responsible for pushing ahead the 5-pillar manifesto to realization for the betterment of the county residents.
Dr. Mbathi has a vast experience in urban planning from University of Newcastle, UK and is a consultant in Urban and regional planning having worked with the UN-HABITAT within the Global Urban Observatory where he managed the 1000 cities GIS project.
Other members include Badi Muhsin, Charity Musyoka, Patrick King’ole Wambua, Mary Muusya Moses, Florence Ndeti, Elijah Masai, Stephen Kavuvu and the female Kitui Mayor Mary Mukina Mbandi.
Addressing the meeting after the board elections, Governor Charity Ngilu lauded the County Assembly for their municipality backing saying it municipality was a milestone towards stirring development in the growing county.
She noted that the municipality authorities worldwide are strong unlike the local authorities that are overshadowed by state run administration.
The Governor encouraged the board to focus on her vision without delay and advised they center on upright priorities to achieve actual development.
“Do not relent in this, we have enough resources in Kitui, move fast to implement our plan” She said.
Ngilu highlighted that her administration is focused on improving the livelihoods of the county residents and urged the board members to deliver fast.
