The County Government of Kitui through the Ministry of Public Health service on 25th November, 2022 commemorated the world toilet day celebration.
The event was held at Kyuso ground, Mwingi North, The event was attended by the County public health officer Mr. Kimwele, Deputy county Director In the Ministry Madam faith Kanini Mutinda, Samaritan Purse Program Manager Mr Phinehas Nkanatha-Program and Several Health Officers among others.
The Theme of this year is Making the Invisible Visible, Using the toilets to protect Underground Water.
The Country Government is partnering with Samaritan Purse, CMMB, FINISH, CHILD FUND, WHH, and LIXIL.
“Let us never underestimate the importance of having a toilet because, without a toilet, health is always at risk”, kitui County Deputy Director Public health Madam Faith Told Congregants.
The journey to sanitization begins with constructing a toilet in every household, The TCD Digital Reports.
The County Government of kitui Is committed to making sure every household has quality toilets, over 350 CHVs from Mwingi North attended the celebrations.
Dr. Stephen Musyoki, MOH Kyuso, Dr. David Silu, Mwingi North sub-County Administrator, and all Ward administrators, Plus CHVs attended the celebration.
The Samaritan Purse program Manager thanked the govt ( both County and National) for supporting Samaritan’s Purse organization.
The Word toilet is marked to create awareness of the importance of having a toilet in every household.
