Kitui Leader of Minority buttresses establishment of Mwingi Municipacility

Kitui County Minority Leader and second term MCA Alex Nganga has buttressed the proposed bill by Mwingi leaders that Mwingi town should become a municipality.

According to Hon. Nganga the municipality charter is already set and they are waiting for County Assembly to approve it so that they can roll out other mechanism of establishing the municipality.

“I can assure the people of Mwingi on behalf of County Government of Kitui that we are working hard towards that” Nganga said.

Speaking on Saturday September 28, 2019 in Mwingi Central Constituency during a burial of a prominent person, Nganga further said that the County Government of Kitui is at a very advanced stage to create a municipality in Mwingi.

Hon. Nganga was seconded by the area MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi and MCA Mary Kanini who urged Mwingi leaders to team up with the county government of Kitui to enhance the proposed bill.

“I know the benefits of a municipality because it comes with a lot of resources and employment opportunities, so our people will benefit immensely from it “said the legislator.
