Kitui Launches handwashing and fumigation Equipments

The County Government of Kitui has today installed more hand washing equipment and launched fumigation exercise in Mwingi town, in efforts to combat the Covid -19 pandemic.

Speaking during the launch, County Executive Member for Tourism sports and culture, and acting CEM for Environment and natural resources Mr. Patrick Musau said the fumigation exercise is among many other measures by the County in the fight against the spread of corona virus.

The CECM said citizen participation in observing the prevention guidelines by the Ministry of health to avoid contracting or transmitting the virus will be key in the efforts to win the fight.

Musau said their is need for residents to present themselves for isolation and testing whenever they show or observe symptoms close to those of Corona virus noting that the 2 positive cases in Kitui were from Mwingi.

Mr. Musau further reiterated the County Government’s commitment in ensuring that the County is Covid- 19 free.The fumigation exercise commencing today at Mwingi town will extend to all other key public places in the County.

Kitui County has been on the fore front in the fight against Corona virus key among it’s efforts being the manufacturing of masks in the County’s Textile center (KICOTEC)Ends
