The National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), USAID Kenya and Kenya NIWAJIBU WETU (NIWETU) are carrying out the Rapid County Action Plan (RCAP) development process at Kitui Parkside Villa Hotel, in Kitui town.
The meeting which was officially opened by Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau, has attracted participants from different sectors of the society and seeks to ensure optimal mobilization of all sectors towards the effective interventions, initiatives and methods to enlighten individuals that terrorist groups target to radicalize and recruit.
Stakeholders will select representatives to serve on a County Engagement Forum (CEF) comprising 15 members to be cochaired by the Governor and the County Commissioner that will draft the Rapid County Action Plan (RCAP) for the county. (after guidance by technical experts).
The National Counter Terrorism Center(CTC) Director Mr Njenga Miiri is leading the visiting team while the DCC Mwingi West Mr Kimolo is representing the County Commissioner who is away on official duty.
Also present is the Kitui County Ag. Secretary Alex Kimanzi, County Executive Committee Member for Tourism Patrick Musau,CECM for Education, ICT and Youth Development David Kivoto, Kitui County Police Commander Lydia Ligami and Kitui County DCCs, among other top officials from National and County Governments.
