The Committee on Health and Sanitation and that of Labour and Social welfare held a joint meeting today together with The Chief Officer for Health Mr. Richard Muthoka and Director for Public Participation office of the Governor Mr. Peter Mutemi.
The committees sought to find out why the hospital was closed as per the details in a letter written by the facility’s Medical Superintendent dated 3rd September, 2019.
What the official procedure is of arriving at the decision to close a hospital in case of insecurity threats.
Whether the hospital has been re-opened and if it was ascertained that there were no more security threats.
Why health facilities are operating without management boards bearing in mind that the boards in place have expired and lack the capacity to run the facilities.
Whether the hospitals are receiving their reimbursements promptly towards the costs incurred in offering services to the K-CHIC clients, among a number of other issues.
