Kitui Governor Ngilu Continues With Her Daily Cabinet Meetings

On Thursday, April 1 2021 – Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu continued with her daily cabinet Meetings by Chairing an early Morning symposium comprising the Senior County Management Team.

In the meeting, the team discussed several activities that are on-going within the county.
Key amongst those discussed include:

1.Update from the County Treasury.

Informed by yesterday’s special cabinet memo on the status of revenue collection, the County Government of Kitui has made deliberate efforts to seal identified loopholes that lead to loss of revenue.

In the meeting, a raft of ideas and proposals were tabled for consideration. These proposals include measures to be taken by the county treasury to boost revenue collection while at the same time measures to be taken to ensure none of the revenue collected is lost.

  1. Slaughterhouse renovation works.

Governor Ngilu was briefed as to the design and machinery that are proposed to be installed at the slaughterhouse.

It was agreed that the machinery and design to be adopted will be determined by how much output they guarantee.

Further, she was briefed on the extent of plans for the demolition of buildings erected illegally on the facility’s land.

  1. General County Development Agenda.

Governor Ngilu’s manifesto is based upon 5 Pillars; as such, deliberate efforts have been put in place to ensure that the development agenda is not stalled.

In her opening remarks, Governor Ngilu urged the members to remember their commitment to serving the people of Kitui irrespective of their places of origin.

“Let it be known by all and sundry that we are not going to relent on our commitment and promise to the people of Kitui. My agenda still stands.” Governor Ngilu said.
