Kitui Environment CO Officiates Climate Change Adaption three-day Workshop

The Chief Officer in charge of Environment and Natural Resources on Friday attended the closing ceremony for three-day climate change and adaptation workshop, the COUNTY DIARY can now report.

The tough and no-nonsense chief Officer reaffirmed the government’s commitment to environmental conservation in Kitui County, the Government under the leadership of H.E Governor Charity Ngilu, has put in place structures to mainstream climate change adaptation and mitigation action, he added.

The workshop was organized by the Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADSE) and Adaptation (ADA) Consortium in partnership with the County Government of Kitui and has engaged members from 9 Wards in Kitui County, Kyome/Thaana, Ikanga/Kyatune, Zombie/Mwitika, Kanyangi, Kyuluni, Mumoni, Kyuso, Kitui Township and Mwingi Central.

The participants from each Ward, have formed Ward Climate Change planning Team(WCCPT), which will be dealing with matters concerning Climate Change at Ward level under the Kitui County Climate Change Planning Team.
