Residents of Kavingo in Zombe/Mwitika Ward have acclaimed Governor Charity Ngilu for fulfilling her healthcare-for-all pledge through commissioning of Ngaaka Yakwa dispensary.
The healthcare facility officially opened its doors to the locals in an auspicious ceremony presided over by Health and Sanitation CEC Dr Winnie Kitetu.
Led by the dispensary’s committee chair Tito King’oli, the residents piled praises on Governor Ngilu for bringing healthcare services closer to them.“We can’t thank Governor Ngilu enough for fulfilling her promise to ensure quality, affordable and reliable healthcare services for the people of Kitui.
“Commissioning of Ngaaka Yakwa dispensary is a huge relief to us. We will no longer have to travel for kilometers to Makongo and Mwitika dispensaries to seek medical services,” said King’oli.
The elated residents vowed to reelect Governor Ngilu citing her transformative and people-centered development agenda.
On her part, Dr. Kitetu noted that the facility will offer, among other services, prenatal, antenatal and postnatal care, maternity, family planning and general medical services.
She also took the opportunity to drum up support for the Azimio La Umoja Movement and ODM luminary Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.“Time is ripe for us as the Kamba community to be in government.
It is now crystal clear that Raila Odinga is set to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 9 national polls,” she told wananchi.
The Health Executive added:
“That’s why our Governor Charity Ngilu and her counterparts Alfred Mutua and Kivutha Kibwana are passionately rallying the region behind Raila because we cannot afford to stay in the opposition anymore.
“She reiterated Mr Odinga’s commitment to better the lives of Kenyans through enhanced devolution, Baba Care universal health scheme, social protection programme and economic revolution, among other interventions for issues affecting the citizenry.
Echoing her remarks, area MCA Eunice Katheke praised Governor Ngilu for serving the constituents diligently.
“Mama Ngilu has implemented numerous projects across my Ward including water provision, construction and equipping of healthcare facilities and improved road network,” noted the Ward Rep.
She also called on Kitui electorate to continue supporting Mama Ngilu’s ambitious development agenda noting that the county chief deserved another term in office to exhaustively deliver on her manifesto.
“Since assuming office in August 2017, Governor Ngilu has fostered tangible progress in all sectors in Kitui County. Her track record is there for all to see,” lauded Katheke.
