Education performance in Kitui County is set for major reforms and upgrade.
Speaking while addressing a battery of journalists shortly after commissioning the new Kitui County Education Board, County Director of Education.
Mrs. Margret Lesuuda said the board members had been briefed fully as to the expectations of the board’s performance by the National and County Governments.
“The major role of this board is leadership, and giving coordination that is expected of them.” Miss. Lesuuda said.
On their part, the board reinstated its commitment to ensuring an improvement is noted in the country’s education sector.
“We have been briefed, so now it’s up to us to liaise with more so, the county government to improve our education standards.” Mr. Kilonzo Musilu, the board’s chairman said.
Also in attendance during the commissioning was Kitui County CECM David Kivoto who reiterated the county government’s commitment to empowering their people in many ways, but most importantly in the education sector
“This is the beginning of a transformation in the education standards in our county. Our commitment to such transformation is sure and reliable on.” Mr. Kivoto said.
Outgoing County Commissioner, Samuel Kimiti also assured the board that the security agencies will cooperate with the board at all times.
