The County Government of Kitui under the leadership of HE Governor Charity Ngilu will distribute 1 Million shillings to each of the 40 Wards in a move geared towards propping up bright and needy students across the vast county.
This was said by the chief Officer, Ministry of Education Madam Agneta Peter during her whirlwind tour of Mwingi North constituency today.
Speaking at Katuuni Mixed Day Secondary school, the Chief Officer reiterated the commitment of the County administration to escalate the distribution of bursary cheques in the given timeline.
“This process is a brainchild of our able Governor Charity Ngilu whose 5 Pillar Manifesto both our roadmap and our modus operandi.
We are marching towards a bright future Together” said the CO.
Mr, Mrs Peter and sister Inlaw Madam Juliana Moses started Katuuni Mixed secondary on 2014, The CO madam Peter by then She was a director at TSC, they build two classroom, gave the school two teachers, Principal and the deputy Principal.
The Governor Charity Ngilu builds dorm for the school, she donated sanitary pads to the students, and she has continued to issue bursaries to the needy students.
Over 7000 beneficiaries are set to benefit from the pro-poor bursaries across Kitui County with each ward getting ready over a million Kenya Shillings.
During a detour to Katse Girls Secondary School, the Chief officer issued a kitty of emergency bursary cheques and encouraged students to work hard.
At Mukekeni Day Secondary School, the CO gave bursaries cheques to beneficiaries and encouraged students, teachers to work hard, reminding them how she rose from being a normal teacher, principal, TSC director and later Chief officer in kitui county.
Madam Agness said its all about hard work.
She held a public Baraza at Katse Vocational training centre where she distributed cheques to beneficiaries.
She further, Urged Village administrators to be at the forefront defending the county government development agenda to the people of Mwingi North.
