Kitui Be Aware: One Thousand Fake Notes In circulation

A 22 year old boy is accused of being part of larger syndicate roaming around Kitui town and environs with fake currency.

The youthful lad from Itoleka in Kitui rural sub county suspected to be a conduit of the syndicate who happens to come from the same region.

The suspect buys goods not exceeding kshs. 100 from different shops,buy cheap beer from pubs or deposit 100/= at Mpesa points using the fake one thousand notes so as to get change in legal currency.
The boy is paid kshs.300 in every one thousand note ‘cleansed’ in this manner.

“Today luck divorced the syndicate after guy conned 5 shopkeepers in the small market of kwangindu, next to Kitui town but the business community swiftly cornered the suspect.

Upon arrest, detectives in Kitui central have managed to snatch the syndicate leader from his hideout in Kiembeni area ( Kalundu) Kitui town.
