Kitui Assembly Procures 134,000 Pieces of face Masks from Kicotec

The County Assembly of Kitui has this evening received 134,000 pieces of face masks from the Kitui County Textile Centre ( Kicotec) to be distributed to Kitui residents across the 40 wards.

The masks were procured by the County Assembly in an effort to combat the spread of the covid -19 pandemic

Speaking during the flagging off, Governor Charity Ngilu thanked the County assembly for the order saying it was a good gesture in ensuring that Kitui People were Covid-19 free.

“I really want to thank the MCAs for this, This is a step towards the right direction in the fight against Corona Virus” She said.

Ngilu commended the assembly for promoting use of local products saying it is a great boost to the County’s economy.

The County has also embarked on the training of local tailors in different centres to produce masks at an affordable price to ensure availability of quality masks across the county.

The Assembly’s masks were received by Mca Anastacia Mwathi of Mutitu/ Kaliku ward.
