Transport sector came in stand still at Kimasian along Kericho -Nakuru highway after the residents blocked the road calling for help in search of a middle aged who drown at Ringa River in Kipkelion East Sub County in Kericho county.
Hundreds of residents of Kimasian village in Kipkelion East Sub County barricaded at Kimasain along Kericho-Nakuru highway road calling for help from well-wishers to search for a body a 22 year old man who is said to have drown on Tuesday 7 May this year.
Police officers from Londiani police station had to use tear-gas to distrup crowd from blocking the road.
Speaking to our reporter , residents reveal that on that material day ,Kiplangat Victor -the deceased were seen at around 6pm in the evening carrying cedar poles heading to his home from the Mau Forest. It is said soon after the Kenya Forest officers guarding the forest saw the said person and were making way to arrest him he jumped on the river and had gone missing to date .
Nickson Langat a resident said for the last five days have searched for the body with no success.
“We have tried our best to recover the body but we may be forced to involved experience people to help us”,Langat said.
He also said that since the incident occurred they haven’t get any assistance from any Kenya Forest emergency team where he call the county and national government to help trace the body of the deceased.
Bernard Kikwai one of the residents said the local divers who have been searching for the body has no diving experiences .
Kikwai also urged the county emergency team to make to the scene and help in tracing the body.
