Speaking to the press today CEC in charge of Lands,Housing and physical planning Barnabas Negno said both the county and national government has launched investigation into cases that some individuals are owning land illegally.
” We are Keen to reposes the grabbed lands that was aquired illegally after we have review land records and there after will take a stern action against lands grabbers”, Ngeno lamented.
Ngeno said there will be no any subdivision of parcel of lands that are below a quarter of an acre in that it will bring menace in the community.
The lands exercutive asked all land owners who are within the municipality zone to pay rates on time to avoid their tittle deeds be revoke by the County government.
” As the county government we owe all leasehold owner shillings 700 million which has not been remitted so far and we asked them to pay the rates before the end of 60 days”, Ngeno added.
Ngeno warn that the government not tolerate corruption in the land sector and any individual implicated in corrupt scandals will be dealt with.
He urged the public to provide information on corruption to enable enforces take action against perpetrators.
