Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has rubished claims by Deputy President William Ruto that Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka grabbed land set aside for the National Youth Service.
In her address to the media at the Kitui Youth Skills Enterprise Centre (KIYOSEC) at Manyenyoni, Governor Ngilu termed the allegations by the DP Ruto as pure lies meant to tarnish the reputation of Mr. Musyoka.
“We know his intention is to stain Kalonzo’s name, but we know the real land thief in Kenya; there is no dispute about that, and am quite informed it’s not Kalonzo Musyoka”. Said Ngilu.
The Governor revealed that it was during her tenure at Ardhi House when DP Ruto unsuccessfully attempted to grab the Lang’ata Primary School play ground, efforts that she thwarted upon consultations with President Kenyatta.
Naming Kalonzo as a transparent, honest and morally upright leader*, Governor Ngilu also revealed she was party to the process that saw Musyoka own the land in question and that the whole process was legal.
“I personally interrogated documents attached to Kalonzo’s land, they’re legal and so was the process he used to acquire the land, Ruto must stop peddling lies”. Ngilu added.
She challenged DP Ruto to initiate Youth Empowerment programs instead of pushing baseless innuendos meant to separate the country.
“It is wrong that the DP gives tokens to the youth, he should be thinking of youth skills development….. I mean, in his position, Ruto should grow the youth instead of brewing trouble for the same youth he claims to help. ” She said.
The remarks come after DP Ruto’s address in Kericho on Sunday where he linked Musyoka with illegal land ownership.
