Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe on Friday, September 27, 2025, commissioned the newly completed Sosoma Dispensary in Nguni, Mwingi Central Sub-County. The facility is part of his administration’s continued efforts to improve access to healthcare services and enhance the well-being of Kitui residents through equitable development across the county.
Addressing residents during the commissioning, Governor Malombe reaffirmed his government’s dedication to strengthening the county’s healthcare system. He announced plans to install solar lighting at the facility, construct a maternity wing, and introduce laboratory services to ensure that residents receive comprehensive medical care without traveling long distances.
The Governor noted that health is a top priority under his development agenda, highlighting that the new dispensary will significantly ease the pressure on existing health facilities in Nguni and neighboring areas. He emphasized that his administration will continue upgrading health centers and dispensaries to improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
Beyond healthcare, the Sosoma area has also benefited from a range of infrastructure projects under Governor Malombe’s leadership. Notably, a water pipeline extension from Tivai to Kyange at the Sosoma–Mwanzale area has been completed, ensuring clean and reliable water supply to the local community. These initiatives reflect the county’s ongoing transformation drive aimed at uplifting livelihoods and promoting inclusive growth across all regions of Kitui.
