Interior CS Dr. Matiangi Gives Kicotec Clean Bill Of Health

The Cabinet Secretary for interior and national co-ordination Dr. Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday affirmed the National Governments supports towards Governor Ngilu’s 5 pillar Manifesto.

Speaking shortly after a tour of the Kitui County textile centre, KICOTEC, Matiang’i said the National government was in full support of Governor Ngilu’s Manifesto pillars since it directly links with the President’s Big 4 Agenda.

“Let me be sincere on this, our commitment is overwhelming. I am impressed at what work is going on in Kitui and I will express the same to the President.” Matiangi said.
“I must say am very encouraged by this garment factory, there are so many people in this county who were not employed before Charity Ngilu took office, this is the pleasure of any serious people” he said.
This visit comes barely a fortnight after President Uhuru Kenyatta, during the launch of Huduma Number in Machakos county declared that all uniforms for chiefs and their assistants be made in the Kitui County Textile Centre. ( KICOTEC).

Further, Matiang’i urged people to register on the Huduma Number Platform. Moreso, he advised the public against subscribing to misleading information on NIMS and instead tap the opportunity to register before time expires.
“We need to identify our people in a critical and organised manner,let’s avoid criticizing the matter” he said.

While enforcing matters security, Matiangi ordered strict and swift action from the National Government security team, working closely with the county Government, in implementing the ban on Charcoal, and sand. Further, Matiangi ordered the formation of Groups comprising tribe elders from Tana River and Kitui County to address the current looming crisis along the two counties over pasture.

“I Have ordered the county commander to arrest and prosecute anyone seen transporting charcoal, people should not be allowed to destroy the environment” he said.

While on the tour, Health Cabinet Secretary, Sicily Kariuki commended Governor Charity Ngilu for being on the fore front in ensuring quality and affordable health care for the people of Kitui.

” I am very impressed by the progress of this programe, that should be the way forward for all counties” she said.

On her part Governor Charity Ngilu urged people to embrace devolution saying it brought resources closer to the people.

“Devolution has really helped, were it not for it,this factory won’t be here and these youngsters would not be employed now” she said.
