The incoming Kitui governor, David Musila has committed to revolutionize the rotten Kitui health sector within his first 100 days in office.
Addressing residents at Musosya market, Matinyani ward in Kitui West Sub-county Musila said, “ the current situation in our health facilities across the county is pathetic.
There are no drugs, gloves, low morale among the healthcare workers in all health facilities across the county. But i commit that, in the first 100 days of my administration I will stock all health facilities with drugs and non-pharmaceutical commodities.”
Musila, further added that all Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) who contracts were terminated by the current regime, they will all be recalled-back and employed on permanent and pensionable terms.
“by absorbing the CHVs this will revitalize and bring closer healthcare services to Kitui residents across the county,” Musila said.
Musila reiterated, that his aspiration to be the next Kitui governor is not for self-gain nor his family, but for the benefit of Kitui county residents.
“I am not seeking this seat(governor) for the benefit of self or my family members, but because of the plight in leadership in the county, which has resulted to a sorry state of healthcare services, education, unconducive working environment for the county staff among others,” Musila noted.
Musila added that, he is the best candidate to be given the leadership mantle of Kitui county, because of his unmatched development track record, long experience in public service as an administrator and a member of parliament for Mwingi South for 3 consecutive times.
