Governor Charity Ngilu has vowed to push for the NHIF bill at the County Assembly of Kitui to ensure sustainability and continuity in the renewal of the process annually.
Speaking while addressing journalists in Kitui town today, the Governor said the UHC initiative is a lifetime chance for her to actualize her healthcare dream for the people of Kitui.
“Universal Health care is a life time chance for me to actualize my dream for the people of Kitui” she said.
The county Government has started the mass enrollment of persons into the recently unveiled Universal Health Coverage by Governor Charity Ngilu, an initiative that will see over 85,000 families enrolled.
The new universal health coverage scheme in partnership with NHIF will see residents pay sh.3000 and the county government a similar amount to guarantee an annual subscription of sh 6000.
The deal among other initiatives will also see all Kitui registered members access inpatient and outpatient services in all NHIF accredited facilities in Kitui and across the country at large.
