As noted in the Kitui East Election Petition, some of the election irregularities included the arrest of a polling clerk by the name Morris Mbuu at Ndovoini Primary School Polling Centre for distributing ballot papers marked in favour of the incumbent MP, although he lost the petition to the incumbent.

There were also allegations that inflated election results were entered in favour of the Jubiled MP at various polling stations.
