Governor Charity Ngilu continues to lead recovery efforts at the scene of the unfortunate tragedy that saw a bus carrying faithfuls swallowed by the swollen Enziu river.
Mama Ngilu was among the first responders at the scene yesterday having landed aboard a Kenya Air force Chopper. The Governor immediately mobilized county government resources to join the joint recovery efforts by Redcross and other government agencies.
KDF divers have since joined the recovery team at Enziu river to help recovery more bodies feared trapped as well as pull out the bus wreckage that is still stuck below the river waters. Governor Ngilu and her team are at the scene currently coordinating recovery efforts.
Governor Ngilu has also dispatched senior county officers to the Mwingi level IV hospital to assist in ensuring survivors receive treatment and affected families and friends identify bodies of fatalities.
